News: SSBN Susquehanna Sustainable Business Network « News
Watching footage of the local land flooded to its edges and beyond brings on renewed thoughts about sustainability and economic viability. The Susquehanna Valley where SSBN members live and work is undoubtedly changed by this nasty turn of the weather. News sites allowed us to click interactive maps to project flood stages and view photo slide shows of current flood conditions and damage from the receding waters. Friends on social media sites posted cresting river statistics and boil water alerts. It is hard to believe that drought alerts dotted forty counties in Pennsylvania communities just one month ago. So, in these times, building a local sustainable economy, one that respects the land and the people in, is doubly important. Won’t you join SSBN at one of our fall events to move in that direction?
