What is SSBN and why would I want to join?

At SSBN, we think life is about finding balance — balance between our home and professional lives, and among the conflicting economic priorities in America today that have a profound impact on our quality of life. In particular, we think it’s imperative to find balance in the way we do business, in the near future, or the consequences to us and to future generations are dire indeed.

We believe it’s not an either/or situation. You CAN do well by doing good. Our members are independent, locally owned businesses, farms, nonprofits, organizations, and individuals who are committed to building an economy that values people, planet, and prosperity for all. Because of our goals and objectives, we have certain criteria for membership in SSBN. But, there is a place for just about everyone at our table. We have a wide variety of membership levels available, something for every budget. More benefits are being added all the time and our latest membership innovation is our online Green Pages.

There are a lot of bids for your “green” dollar these days. SSBN is not a “me too” organization trying to capitalize on this groundswell of interest. We were an early entrant and we still put your investment to best use. No big staff, fancy printed newsletter, or pricey events.
