SSBN and our members help create a local living economy organized around certain components or building blocks of a sustainable system – Energy, Construction, Retail, and Food & Farming. While not every member fits into these categories (nor do they need to), these four areas are worth talking about as they help form the foundation on which much of a sustainable business community depends.

As you read the content contained in each of these Building Blocks (click on the pictures below for more detail), you will notice a special section called What You Can Do. This is our effort to turn theory into actionable steps. We hope that you will not only take those steps, but contact us if you can suggest additional concise ways that site visitors can build a sustainable business community.
